Dr Marie Rubby Roger is the founder of IDT Clinic and serves as the medical director. She received her medical degree from the Universidad del Noreste. She completed her internship and residency programs at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center-Regional Academic Health Center and her fellowship at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio. She is also certified in Tropical Medicine and Traveler's Health, CTropMed®. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Infectious Disease. She is an active member of the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA). It is Dr Roger’s outmost goal to provide cutting edge and up to date medical care to her patients with compassion, empathy, and professionalism. She believes in disease prevention and is dedicated to educating her patients about their disease process.

Adebimpe Victoria Akinrin, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC

Experienced Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner specialized in Infectious Disease. Extensive history of working in the hospital, rehabs, skilled and long-term care facilities. Skilled in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Acute Care, Infectious Disease, Oncology Care, Cardiac Care, and Home Health Care. Strong and professional advanced practice provider with a Master’s Degree focusing in Family Care.

Cindy is a Nurse Practitioner for IDT Clinic since October 2021. Cindy graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner. Working in collaboration with the physicians, she diagnoses and manages a variety of infections in the hospital and skilled nursing facilities. In addition, Cindy has extensive experience working with critical patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) and Trauma Neuro/Medical Intensive Care Unit.

 

Cindy is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner and a current member of the American Association of Critical Care

Laforest Leandre, MSN, APRN, FNP

Experienced Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner since 2016 Specialized in Infectious Diseases. Working in close collaboration with the infectious disease physicians. Extensive experience in in-patient and out-patient settings. Strong background in diagnosing and managing a variety of infections with outstanding 

outcomes. Previously worked at the Emergency rooms, intensive care units, step-downs, and coronary care unit. Graduated with a master's degree in advanced practice provider and currently enrolled in Doctorate Practice in nursing program. He currently has privileges in multiple local hospitals including Bethesda Health System, JFK Medical Center, St. Mary's Medical Center, and Boca West Medical Center.  Edner has strong critical and professional 

skills, and put his heart and soul in caring for the sick.

Infectious diseases are caused by pathogenic microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, parasites or fungi; the diseases can be spread, directly or indirectly, from one person to another.

Zoonotic diseases are infectious diseases of animals that can cause disease when transmitted to humans. Example: Avian flu, Brucella, Bartonella, Lyme disease, Campylobacter, Cat-scratch disease, Toxoplasmosis, Cryptosporidiosis, Cryptococcosis, Toxocariasis, Salmonellosis, Cysticercosis, Histoplasma, Giardia.

Tropical diseases include all diseases that occur principally in the tropics. This term refers to infectious diseases that thrive in hot, humid conditions, such as Malaria, Leishmaniasis, Schistosomiasis, Onchocerciasis, Lymphatic Filariasis, Chagas disease, African Trypanosomiasis, and Dengue.
